The common material of choice for inland metal roofing is a zinc aluminum coated steel often referred to by the trade name galvalume. Pbr is a heavy duty 26 gauge exposed fastener panel using hex head screws with a built in gasket to prevent leaking. Two popular roofing materials that use this process of binding two or more dissimilar metals are referred to as galvanized and galvalume each of which use steel as the base metal. We would not recommend using galvalume panels with exposed fastener steel roofing systems such as corrugated or ribbed steel roofs.

Galvanized and galvalume steel roofing it is important to note that base metals can be combined coated or layered with additional metals in a variety of bonding processes. The zinc aluminum alloy provides corrosion resistance that is in most cases superior to galvanized steel which is is coated with a very thin layer of zinc. Normally galvalume is offered in both bare and pre coated pre painted versions.
